Project 1

Contextual Study Sketch Journal of a Traditional Street (Individual)

For the first assignment of the Theories of Asian Architecture module, we were tasked with an individual assignment, where we were given a list of specific streets. The objective was to choose one and identify the architecture that influenced the area. My chosen street was Jalan Sultan, Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia's Jalan Sultan, a bustling street in Kuala Lumpur, exudes vibrant energy and cultural diversity. Lined with historical landmarks, trendy shops, and delicious eateries, it offers a captivating blend of tradition and modernity. This iconic street showcases the dynamic spirit and rich heritage of Malaysia.

Site Visit

A night visit with friends at Jalan Sultan, enjoying a delightful meal at a Mee Tarik restaurant, was a memorable experience. The bustling street, the flavorful food, and the laughter-filled conversations created an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie, making it a cherished evening together.
